Cards, notes, calls, these expressions of sympathy are simply the best. Whether they share a wonderful memory or just say "Sorry to hear about your loss," they are a source of enormous comfort. I won't let another passing of a friend's loved one pass without sending my thoughts along.

ReplyDeleteMy husband keeps a supply of sympathy cards, so that anyone time one of his colleagues (he works for the state teachers' union), he sends a card.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. I didn't get this "religion" until whacked with a staggering loss. Now, I send along a note to anyone I even remotely know who has been affected by a death.
