Playground wisdom says "It takes one to know one." Who better than an aging female internist to keep you in the know on the latest in medical advances to help you navigate through middle-age and beyond?
This information is intended to be general in nature and should not be relied upon for specific treatment. If you need medical attention, please contact your personal physician's office for an appointment.

Thanks doc, a picture is worth a thousand words.
It is that point four inches lower than which the moronic young male aims to have the top of his jeans reach.
Sorry bro', you've got your ages and waistlines mixed. The moronic old guys wear their waistbands way above the iliac crest whereas the young ones are low riders (just above what our mother called 'the pippic').
If you will read my exquisitely worded comment carefully, you will see there is no confusion.
I read the "exquisitely worded comment carefully." Not once, but twice, and yet again with the photo next to me to make sure I was properly oriented. I have to side with the good doctor on this one. Perhaps your comment was so exquisitely nuanced that further elucidation is required?
OK, anon and sister, you have made me sad, and frustrated. The state of writing, and reading, in this country is such that lucid writing writing falls on, as it were, blind eyes. Let me first gloss my original comment: "It [the iliac crest] is that point four inches lower than which [i.e., four inches lower than the iliac crest"] the moronic young male aims to have the top of his jeans reach [the mym wants the top of his jeans to be four inches below the iliac crest]. Nothing could be clearer, or more exquisitely expressed. Here it is diagrammatically:
xxxxxxxxx iliac crest
|
| (4 inches)
___________ top of mym jeans
Alright, bro', I get it now, but that which needs annotated glossing perhaps is not the clearest of writing. And we are not moronic young males following this blog.
Resident teenager sent resident old guy a birthday card wherein mym with notable butt crack looming above low riders eyes mog with pants cinched around lower rib cage while both exclaim "Nice pants!"
duly chastened, am I.
Now stop that you kids. Don't make me stop the car or you'll be sorry!
Reality Man, literally read your comment does in fact mean the exact opposite of what you really meant, and your diagram which does not accurately represent your statement shows just how jaded you are about how exquisitely you write. The statements "[the iliac crest]is that point four inches lower than which [i.e., four inches lower than the iliac crest"] are actually two contradictory statements. You literally gave directions to 4 inches above the iliac crest. Period. Please join "reality, man," get a clue, an editor and stop being condescending.
